Balm for Troubled Minds
Although the air may shimmer with fear,
The heart palpitate into the unnatural night,
Although the spirits may taunt and play
Cruel games with your mind,
They are only spectres and with
A light breeze of your hand,
You can cast them aside.
And from there, when the waves
Start to still, the heat starts to cool,
The space starts to open up endlessly
(as the fern unfolds), from there you may glean
The rippling hum - low and warm - which
Embraces all of this life.
This sacred embrace is underneath all fears and
If we were to fall into our fears, we would
Find ourselves on a pillow of clouds -
Laughing at some giddy jesters’ silly dance
Where the serious king is mocked and his
Heavy grey brow begins to crack into a smile.
Just try it, this moment, let your heaviness break
Into a smile and shine your crazy beauty
And see how this Love melts all fear,
How it is truly stronger than even death,
How it creates wave after wave of joy
And now the once turbulent sea is
Gliding harmonious play.
Sing these mellifluous tones and
Lend me your hand, for this Love
Transcends all. And is Beauty
Unbounded
